Navigate Map for Logged GMRS Repeaters

About This Site

My name is Wes Eubanks, known on the air as WRDX849 on GMRS, or 2‑TX‑849 / 849‑Richmond.

Built with an engineering mind, driven by an adventurer’s heart, and grounded in a survivor’s will.

I started this website for a simple reason: my family once faced a serious post‑hurricane situation and we weren’t prepared. We got through it — but we got through it on luck. And I decided then that luck isn’t good enough.

This site is a living hub for the things I care about most, especially emergency preparation and emergency communication. I enjoy building systems that help people stay informed, connected, and capable when infrastructure is damaged or unavailable. That includes everything from basic readiness and planning, to hands‑on radio work like GMRS, tracking and mapping repeaters, and experimenting with mesh communications using Meshtastic and MeshCore in the LoRa space.

A big part of my focus is making radio communication part of everyday life — because in an emergency, the worst time to learn is when you need it most. Confidence comes from repetition, practice, and real‑world use.

“We don’t rise to the level of our expectations; we fall to the level of our training.”

That idea sits at the core of everything I build and share here. Preparation isn’t something you turn on when things go bad — it’s something you build over time.

You’ll also find links to my other hobbies — building my Jeep, camping, and fishing / kayak fishing — because for me, they all connect: being outdoors, being self‑reliant, and being ready.
